Parkour - The Art of Movement
    #4073096 -

So have any of you heard of parkour? It is sometimes referred to as freerunning, although there is a large debate in the parkour community as to whether the two are identical. It is not extreme running. It is not about high drops, or jumping from rooftops.

Regardless, Parkour is about flowing with your environment and surroundings. Obstacles become opportunities. Flow is the holy grail of parkour. An inner sense of flow, you are unobstructed, becoming one with your surroundings.

If you guys are interested, I suggest a look at Urban Freeflow . The site has some interesting articles, a list of the fundamental movements (a strong belief in the community is that Parkour is not about the moves, it's about the movement), excercises, stretches, and a great forum for discussing parkour and health, among other things.

Fixed your link:

edit: Looks pretty cool. I might want to try it someday when I can
afford police attention.

mmm, thanks for pointing that out :-) i fixed the original link too, heh.

anywho, it does not draw police attention if it is not done with a criminal mindset. i haven't had a problem with any police in the couple months i've been doing it (and not for lack of ignorant and oppressive police presence around where i live).

if somebody comes up to you to ask what you are doing, it's a legitimate sport. like i said, it's not about jumping from rooftop to rooftop, although the more experienced runners do this. it's not about defying the law or trespassing either.

but i'm not gonna force you
