Do I have a compost heap or a wormey?

Hi all. Long time posting here see there has been alot of changes!
Anyway. I recently gathered 10 full bin liners of horse manure from a local stables with the idea of using it to start my first compost heap. While shoveling I can see there are loads of red wrigglers in the pile (which to me signals theat the composting process has already begun)

So I get all the bags home (damn, shoveling and loading poo into a car is hard work  :blush: ) and deposit the poo into a 1m*1m*1m space with concrete slabs at the base, oh yeh i also added some wetted brown leaf litter to the base. So the pile fills roughly a third of the space so there is plenty of room for material expansion. (cool!)
The idea is to be able to deposit kitchen scraps and grass cuttings (high nitrogen) and shredded waste paper (carbon). Thing is I can't figure if this pile is wormery or just a compost heap with worms!? Does it matter? I mean good compost is good compost right, but Seeing as the worms are there I might as well keep them in good condition.

I have some agaricus spawn on the way to me so I hope to use the compost soooon :smile: I will post some pics soon. If anyone has any advice for a compost noob that would be cool.

That stuff will be great. I'd recommend shredding and wetting some newspaper and putting it in there so that you have more nutrients in your compost. Sifting out the worms is a pain in the ass. That stuff will work great.

Oh i'd pasteurize for sure!
Yeh getting those worms out may take time but those little guyss are doing a great job it's the least I can do to show a little patience :smile:
