Cobweb Mold?

This is my first time growing, I have innoculated 7 1/2pint jars using the pftek. At first, it was hard to see the mycellium growing, just appeared to be a small, white, fuzzy circle. Now, after only 2 weeks, some of the jars are almost completely colonized. I noticed the mycellium has "pulled" away from the sides of the jars and there are some spots with water droplets; there are also spots that have a bit of white "fuzz", is this bad? is this normal? What SHOULD the jars look like if mostly colonized? I mean, I can see small "roots" that are part of the mycellium, then there are parts where it has been growing for a while that look kinda "soft" and "fluffy"...I HOPE THIS IS NOT MOLD, damnit! I will try to get a cam soon, THANKS!

Cobweb mold is wispy, grey looking matter. It is much faster than mycellium and has the potention to cover a cake in only a few days. It is usally most visiable in the dry verm layer that is place on top of the normal PF type cakes. It hardly has a smell, so be careful. I was just recently attacked (12 jars) by it.

Healthy Jars? Heh, guess I smoke too much pot, getting paranoid....there is also a slight yellowing in the mycellium right were the needle was inserted...

That's allright, the mycelium extracts the water and nutrients from the substrate, the result is excrets and CO2, logicaly the gas factor (Co2) has to get out, in terms of its total mass the cake will decrease when the fungus consumes the subtrate and Co2 is released, that's why the air exchange is beneficial at a certain point, to let Co2 get out and to continue it's excretion in terms of it's incubatiom stage cycle. That's why the mycelium pulled away from the sides of the jars, the substrate is loosing its water content to promote mycelium growth. Let the jar stay and watch out for any contams, you should be ok.
