Your nuts, get an Australian Bearded Dragon instead. They are more friendly, you can walk them, and feeding them will not exceed the cost of the actually animal once they are full grown.

Yes, this seems like a brilliant idea.

Look at the tail on that, it gives an indication of potential growth. Just as the paws of a young dog will give a hint to its full grown size. You would need to put a lot of money into that animal, and for it to be entertaining/worth it, i'd have to feed him live prey =x. Its fun to put a beardie (Bearded Dragon) on your floor (Preferably carpeted) and throw crickets left and right, they fly around eating them and its hilarious to watch them run.

I'd put him on a strict diet of squirrels, rabbits, & stray cats.

That thing isn't cute, its perfect. Unchanged for millions of years, never had to evolve.

"not evolving" is a form of evolution, don't mistake as being some sort of superior quality or an example of perfection...everything is evolving the way it needs to, nothing being more perfect than the next.

HAHA! Your neighbors are going to go straight for your front door when their animals turn up missing. Definitely a good idea to save money on food, yet a full grown Cayman* would have to eat 10 cats a day. Better off getting a monitor lizard, not the 8 foot ones, the 4-5 foot ones. They eat live prey, and you are able to handle them due to a smaller medulla. Crocks/Alligators are always angry and mean, helps them survive; but is a strict deterrent when considering touching the things.

Yes, I am implying that Sharks, as well as alligators/crocks; posses a much superior array of physical talents, all which aid to the common goal of all species; that being survival. We evolve to stay ahead of the curve, and to help the continuance of our species.

hehe, you sound like your going to enjoy that number. You should video tape a few of the feedings, try and get them digitized and post them up for our entertainment. I still recommend a smaller, more amicable lizard.

Just as being neutral is a form of action. If something keeps its physical form, not evolving because it can still handle the environment around it - that's a form of evolution. Stasis is just another form of change, just like deciding not to do anything is a decision nonetheless.

I'll tell you how it goes with the adoption once they get back to me, hopefully I can adopt that little sweetheart. It would feel like my own personal Tony Montana tiger.

I admire your depth; however when speaking in terms of evolution (generic, accepted forms), inaction does not equal action. The entire premise is illogical, its an invalid statement. I understand your views on shall I say; acts of omission, yet not sure how it pertains to my statement, or disproves. Evolution = change, not changing while your environment becomes more harsh due to the fact you are already well suited, does not equal a form of evolution. Anyhow.

SuperMario, that is truly admirable that you are willing to adopt an alligator; the responsibility is quite extensive. Bet if you told Steve Irwin of your latest act of kindness he'd talk about you on the show, or even visit ya with the crew; hows that sound mate? hah

In terms of evolution "action" and "inaction" are inadmissible terms. Evolution is a process outside of conscious will, the way I see it at least, and so you can't act or not act on it. Evolution is a state of being in my eyes, so if something hasn't technically, physically evolved over millions of years I wouldn't say it hasn't evolved.
