Bill Gates has taken LSD though, and I do believe he was taking while he was getting microsoft started......he talked about it in an interview, but I forget which one and where I saw it.

Alexander Shulgin, Albert Hoffman are two that come to mind.

Timothy Leary was at Harvard, however I believe he was dismissed and never even made associate professor.

i do belive he still had a PhD in chemistry or phycology .

"He also didn't design Windows. He stole it from Apple after they stole it from Xerox."

So - it was ready to go and be sold on shelves when he stole it? No designing needed at all?

If so, I'm surprised.

It wasn't on the shelves, but it was pretty much a more-or-less finished project. Billy just stole it and made it a front over DOS.

All the while, bitching and moaning about how people are stealing BASIC from him.

I'm assuming you gathered this information from the movie "The Pirates of Silicon Valley." It was actually Steve Jobs who took the acid in the movie, and not Bill Gates. He also didn't design Windows. He stole it from Apple after they stole it from Xerox.

No, Bill Gates did take acid, only it was long before Microsoft released Windows, which Bill Gates didn't write. Bull Gates wrote a BASIC interpreter way back when, he didn't write DOS, and he didn't write Windows.

Where the heck do people get this stuff from?

LSD was first used by Albert Hoffman, the chemist who invented it... before it hit the mainstream it was popular amongst scientists, professors and other scholarly people.

Of coure, there are a lot of "high scientists" but most keep it on the D.L. due to the clean-cut nature of their work.

I bet there are quite a few we don't know about, especially before the 60's.
After mescaline was isolated it was tried and studied by academics across Europe. I imagine quite a few scientists tried it in the early 1900's.
I think it was studied abit in Germany. Even though there is no documentation or proof I wouldn't be surprised if Albert Einstein tried Mescaline.
