How do you play .avi files?

I've got a ton of movies in avi format and stupid WinAmp won't play them even with the so called "plug-in".

I've read that they may actually in DivX format...

How do i get these files to work!??!

If winamp or wiondows media player wont play them chances are they have DIVX encoding. Just go to www.divx.com they have a free download with a player thats pretty good and all the codecs u need.

BTW, they won't work on quicktime either.

If you get the stuff from www.divx.com it should work fine. Give that a try first.

Try using VLC for playing videos...

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It will play most stuff without having to download extra codecs.

Yeah, I use VLC to watch downloaded porn. Does the ... job. :smile:

You might need XViD too. Yes, it's different from DiVX. Just Google it, you'll find it.

ive had this problem a million times before, download a divx player and divx drivers, they should play fine. and cut down on the pr0n =P
