what do you eat during the week? im starting to get sick of the same food everyday and wish for a change.I pretty much eat a bagel with cream cheese in the morning and cereal at night. I do not feel unhealthy but my diet certainly is. i want to eat healthy variety of food. so what are meals that i could add to my grocery list?

you're in luck as I've been studying herbs and nutrition and diet..
bagels are no good for the most part because they are made with bleached white flour.. which is devitamized and usually high in 'empty calories'. Also with cream cheese.. cheeses and products made from animal milk tend to be a constipating food, among other things. You would do much better with oatmeal and/or other whole grain breads & cereals like whole wheat, rye bread or something like that with some fresh fruit.

Eat RAW fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible. Try to eat one large meal a day of raw vegetable salad and cooked or steamed vegetables. Do not mix fruits and vegetables in the same meal.

Good breakfasts:

shredded wheat, (any whole grain cereal), oatmeal, wild or brown rice, figs, dates, ripe bananas, any fruit or berries, soy cottage cheese, walnuts, almonds

lunch options:

applasauce with raisins, whole wheat zwibach, whole grain rice, apples, peaches, grapes, cherries, canteloupes, pears, pineapples, watermelon, dates

dinner options:

potato (baked or boiled with skin ON), sweet potato, spinach, okra, string beans, squash, eggplant, cauliflower, carrots, onions, greens, etc. etc.

Stay away from devitamized foods like grits, white flour products, white rice, etc.. and avoid unhealthy foods like refined cane sugar, vinegar, mustard, pepper, partially hydrogenated oils.. basically you want to eat everything as close to it is in its natural state.

Only eat bananas when they have black spots on them as that is when the starch has been converted into digestible grape sugars.

Eat potatos with the eyes and with the peel.. this is where all the nutrients are. If you peel a potato you are eating almost pure starch and almost no vitamins and minerals. Same with carrots, cucumbers, etc.. all the vitamins lie just under the skin.. do not peel them.

some ideas to get you started..
Very healthy foods:

Grains:
- Wild & Brown Rice
- Oatmeal
- Whole grains
- Bran
- Whole wheat zwieback

Nuts: (make sure to eat nuts.. they are high in protein, fats, and essential amino and fatty acids that your body needs)
- Walnuts
- Almonds
- Pecans
- Peanuts
- Butternuts
- Brazil nuts

Legumes:
- Peas
- Lentils
- Soybeans
- Kidney Beans
- Green beans
- Chick peas

Fruit:
- oranges
- Strawberry
- Apples
- blueberries
- cranberries
- figs
- dates
- pears
- peaches
- cherries
- lemons
- raisins
- pineapple
- grapes
- plums
- lime
etc

Vegetables

- Carrots
- Celery
- All Greens
- onions
- potatos
- cucumber
- squash
- parsnips
- beets
- turnips
- sprouts
- eggplant
- radishes
- cauliflower
- broccoli
- asparagus
- okra
- artichoke
- avocado
- cabbage

Pasta, rice mixes {Zatarains is excellent}, your choice of soup with a sandwich, salad with whatever thrown in; hard boiled egg, cheese, lunch meats, croutons, a good salad dressing. It's just about Barbecue season up here, and almost anything works on the grill...marinated portabella mushrooms, grilled tuna or salmon, your basic hot dog or hamburger. :shrug:Now I'm hungry :goodluck:

Why aren't you supposed to mix fruits and vegetables?

well, you can.. to an extent.. but like many things you aren't supposed to mix.. (like milk and coffee).. it causes putrefaction in the stomach and usually constipation. The fruit acids and sugars may mix disagreeably with the vegetable juices or something.

I've just been reading a lot lately in mu nutrition books, and most sensibles seem to agree that meat has high levels of unhealthy uric acid (causes gall stones, kidney disease, heart disease, etc etc) and has a very poor ratio of protein-per-weight. Soybeans and other legumes have a much higher percentage of protein, and in an easier digestible form to humans as well. Also almost all nuts are very high in protein and contain high levels of essential acids that meat does not have. No one needs meat to survive.

have you ever munched out on a wide variety of foods while stoned or something, and eaten more than yur stomach can digest? Like say you eat a sandwich, then some cereal and a banana, then some spicy chiken wings, then a pickle, then a bowl of ice cream.. and hours later you feel a sour feeling down in there.. what is ocurring is putrefaction because your stomach cannot digest that combination of food, so it is basically rotting in your stomach until there is room or it is cleansed.
