YAY! ID REQUEST!! (Updated with PICs!!!)

I went out for about my fourth or fifth time in the fields and I'm about 90% sure I found a FEW cubes, but hey; a few is a lot better than none...I found more cube look-a-likes (white gills) than cubes, but I am going to post pics and put information so you guys can properly ID it...you just gotta give me a day to get the sporeprint and take the pics and all....but YAY, first find of my life, which also happens to mean that the Spring season IS in fact arriving...slowly but surely! :smile:

thats awesome- glad to hear it and good luck--  where are you located that you found these cubes?    Ive been finding a few cubes here in central TX-

My friends and I scoured quite a wide area within a timespan of about 3-4 hours, but hell, finding anything is worth it...here is the ID information...

A. Found these potential cubes in a field littered with fresh and older cow shit...they were all separate from each other.

B. Gills all seem to be brownish-purplish.

C. 2.5 - 3.5 inches in diameter

D. Stem length ranges from 2-5 inches with these...they are either brusing what looks to me like it could either be black or a dark purple/blue color.

E. The caps all have a brown spot in the middle and then a more creamish color extending out toward the edges...in the picture with the lighter and quarter, the first shroomie on the left seems to be bruising blue (is this any indication of a cube?)  According to Stamets, the caps are either hemispheric or broadly convex...moreso broadly convex than hemispheric.

F. Working on the sporeprints now, however I took a little peek after about 6 hours and the prints all seem to be coming out as a blackish/purplish color.

G. Bruising is like I said, either a dark blue/purple or a black color.

H. These four mushrooms smell like psilocybes that I've eaten in the past (which was another reason I thought they very well may be cubes).

Cubes have dark Chocolate-brown to purple-brown gills. They do not resemble mushrooms with white gills. Expecially the cubes growing in manure and shrooms with white gills are not found in manure. except minute specimens of small lbm mycenoid types.

Ehhh the shrooms I found didn't bruise at all, so I assumed they were worthless and threw them out...maybe next time (tonight?) I'll save them and post pictures...

They were grown from a mushroom with viable spores which fell to the ground or on grass or from spores in a cows stomach. Then the mycelia spread through the shit. Then the mushrooms appeared. Most have spores. These were infertile.l The new fruiting bodies were sporeless.

This has to be yet another stupid question.
