Are they really active ?
Well, this bring another question, i've read MJ's guide "A List of the Known Psilocybian Mushrooms" and it list this castaneifolius strain as active , it also lists Panaeolus sphinctrinus as active, i have those at my lawn but nobody told me they where active. Who is correct ?

Peace,
MAIA

Handicapped by poor pics, i still believe the entire collection is paneolus foenisecii. west of the rockies inactive, not very active elsewhere, very common shroom in high school lawns.

Allright, allright! You're right about the pics, sorry ;)
They grew a lot since yesterday, take a look at this pics now, they ain't blur for sure.

The fly is for size comparisons ;)

I don't really know if this one belongs to the same specie

This ones are said to be Pan. Microsporus sp. , they are diferent from the others i think. Do you confirm ?

Peace,
MAIA

the more i look at the new pics, the more i am convinced that they are all the same specie. i am NOT certain as to what specie, however.

they look very very much like foeneschi except that they are a tad bit small compared to the western Washington variety that i have collected litterally thousands of, thinking that i had a good candidate for a magic specie.

there are some Psilocibe species that grow in South America, that look like those, i have not collected any of, but all those species have a strong blueing reaction. I take it that yours do not.

Hi MAIA!
I think your mushroom species here is Panaeolina foenesecci.
Why? Because of the gill structure. Notice that the gills are distantly spaced, with one short then one long blade!
I can always tell by that, plus the color of the gills. Most Panaeolii have almost black gills, from birth to maturity. This one has brown gills, with small gray spots on them.
The older specimens have almost black gills, but you can tell they're old and decaying. This is due to their Coprinus characteristic.
This is the only member of the Panaeolii family that I can distinguish! hehe! Sometimes I'll pick a mushroom that I think is a "Lawn Mowers'" and look at the gills. If the structure is different, I then call it "Some kind of Panaeolus". Hehe.
I need to read alot more about those Panaeolus species mushrooms. I may very well have disrgarded a possible magic mushroom, due to my ignorance in the subject.
Hehe, I hope I helped alittle. ?
Stay cool!-Levi7.
