Sour smell?

When I opened one of my jars i smelled sort of a sour smelling smell. The jar was 100 percent colonized though with beautiful white mycelium. I went ahead and cased it. Do you think my casing will get contaminated. My grow log is here. I'm using straight verm. -

The same thing happend to me, only when I birthed the jar and crumbled it there was black crap all in the middle of the jar, if you didnt see any unusual colors I wouldnt worry about it maybe it was a weak contam that mycelium took over

well i did notice some color but it was on the top layer of vermiculite. it somehow got wet in the pc. mabey that is it.  :confused:

I just thought man if you have a whole log going dont risk it try building a poormans set up for the one tray maybe I wouldnt risk a log for one cake :smile:

naw its not one cake. its 10 cakes the others just didn't finish. look on the second page. I started a casing.

better discard the one that smells. you still have 9 and that is better than none if it is a contam and spreaded.

I've noticed a sour smell, similar to sour cream, coming from mine, its not too bad of a smell. They always turned out fine though.
