Michigan shit on me again

It was such a beautiful day yesterday. The sun was out and it was warmer than usual. I was trapped at work so I promised myself I'd go out disc golfing today. So I wake up and what do I see out my window? Snow :thumbdown: Thank you Michigan for once again shitting on my hopes.

What's the deal w/ disc golfing? I never heard of this until the other day, when another midwesterner was talking about it. Is it like golf, but you throw frisbees? Thats the impression I got.

You don't need somebody to play with... just go there and shoot a round or two. It's fun by yourself but the golfers are friendly. Chances are, somebody will ask you to join their group if you're by yourself.

People openly smoke pot on some courses, it's beautiful :lol:

Yeah, I usually go alone or just with a friend or two. There's always a few pros playin at any time of the day, and they're always more than happy to play a game or two with me. Last summer I went alone to my favorite course and there was a pro at hole one waiting to tee off, smokin a jay. He let me in on it and then asked if I wanted to play with him. I played a round with him and learned a few good lessons that have improved my game a lot. This summer I'm doing tournaments at the AM3 level, just to see how it goes.

I usually have a problem talking to people I don't know as well. But at a disc golf course, we're playing disc golf, so we have something in common, ya know? Even if it's a good lookin lady, I'll still talk to them. I get satisfaction out of seeing people's reaction when I hit the pole off the tee on a par 4 :thumbup:

PDGA course directory. If you click on any state you can find how many courses it has. Some states like Cali and Texas have a lot.

We have almost a foot right now and it is not supposed to stop until tomorrow night. MN, not MI though. Saving money staying out of the bar though.
