Cold Weather and Tripping

I've only been out in the cold twice while tripping (both times were while on acid) and the cold has completely killed the trip both times until i got back into the warmth of my home. I was planning on tripping on friday with a few close friends and am planning out what i want to do. I would like to include some outside time but the weather report says it's going to be 31 F with a little wind. My question is, has anyone else noticed the cold weather killing their trip too? And if so, does this apply to shrooms as well. Thanks for any advice you have.

i tripped on shrooms with 21F temp a couple of weeks ago.
i loved the snow but the cold was too hard and i wished that i was somewhere hot.
so if the cold is too much for you,don't do it. if it's bearable go ahead!!

first i tripped was out in snowy cold walk, going inside a few hours after it started didnt change the quality of eet

this happens when i blaze outside when its too cold.. its so cold that you cant think about being fucked up, you just think of how cold and uncomfortable you are

last time i was on acid out in cold weather, all the trees were bare except for spots of snow scattered on the branches. they looked like balls of snow rolling up and down the branches, it was unreal.
the cold didnt cause me to stop tripping, or ruin the trip, i was just extra sensitive to it.

some of my best trips were when it was cold....i would take some shrooms, smoke a bowl, bundle up (i suggest a hoodie of some sort, made me trip insane with my hood on! )

Trips can make you cold, especially before the peak. If it is cold outside, and you start to get chilly early on in the trip, it is best to find warmth or the cold can get overwhelming.

If you bundle up, and have a positive mindset, you can do it, but cold tripping is not for noobies IMHO.

The cold pretty much sucks. If you just stand around then you'll have a miserable experience. If you keep on a constant walk, you will typically generate enough body warmth so you can enjoy your experience.

ive done it all in 0 degree whether, gotta love being on the border of ny and canada with that lovely lake effect, snow and ice and freezing temps. going outside on shrooms is TERRIBLE its so cold cause your body already hass dropped in temp from them. acid isnt much fn in the cold either, its brought my trip down before. i would stay inside, i just cant cause i cant smoke cigs inside, weed is actually a lot easier to get away with. so inside or waiting would be my suggestion cause when i went out, i was in a down jacket that usually makes me sweat, nice warm hat, and im the type of person who hates heat ans would normally take ny over florida anyday for this reason, still was pretty shitty.

Haha, I go to school in Ithaca, NY so the warmth is still awhile off. I wouldn't say i'm an expierenced tripper, but i've triped on acid 4 times and shrooms twice, so I kinda know what i'm doing. I just remember the cold completely killing a good acid trip (3 tabs) once so i'm hesitant to do it again, but it seems like a lot of your have had good experiences so i'll bundle up warm and i wont' be far from my house if i start to get cold.

Cold only intensifies the feelings I get while tripping or while stoned.
I enjoy the cold and think it helps for a good setting. Possibly closer to death? Just an idea.

i really don't like the cold when i'm tripping. if its a cold day i won't go outside.

I work in a parking lot way up in CNY usually late at night when the temps are most frigid. I've done shrooms once there and I rip all the time while im working. If you stay bundled really, really good you won't lose anything on the trip. Also it can be kinda cool if you wear a face mask and pull your hat down low. It's like your looking out through a window or a tunnel. Your inside this warm shell and everything outside is just crazy and amazing.

I agree with the others on the fact that tripping has a tendency to make you cold anyway so going out into weather that's even colder can be a bit of a challenge. I've found the challenge to be quite rewarding though. You just have to make sure that you're dressed warmly enough. If you put on enough layers (like twice as many as usual) then there's simply no way that you can be cold (unless it's like -50 or something). And besides, snow is trippy yo! There's nothing quite like tripping your balls off and trampsing through the snow in a warm little bubble! It's great. As far as fucking with the intensity of the trip, IMO this will only happen if you don't layer enough.

So I say layer up, get outside and breath some fresh air, and when you get back you'll appreciate the warmth all the more! Oh yeah, be careful if yer on ketamine or pcp or something like that, disassociatives can fuck with your ability to sense when you're cold and you definitely don't want to freeze to death.

yea man, ithaca cant be fun for tripping in the cold, i can relate to your weather very very well, im in buffalo. ive had the same experience with the cold killing an acid trip, while i was all bundled up and shit too. luckily it was afoaf with the sheet so we redosed after getting him to come over. while i still plan on tripping in the cold again cause thats most of the time im there, but i try to stay out of the cold.

It's nice to meet another person livin in NY State, though I'm sure it's colder up in Buffalo. Bills fan by any chance? I'm from New Jersey, but have been a life long bills fan. Anyway, it's not supposed to be that colder here on friday (37F, which i can't believe i'm saying isn't that cold) so i'll just bundle up warm and it shouldn't be too bad.
