Pics of my setup using PF/MMGG

Here are a few pictures of the setup I have been using for just over two years. I use 4 perlite terarriums, each containing 12 cakes. As you can see in the pics I have two on each shelf.
The cakes are all from my own pure culture clones and the cakes all have vermiculate in the center as per. the "InnerReservoir Tek". This and cold shocking the cakes over night in the fridge before birthing result in 1.25 Lb. dry per cycle. Although the first flush produces 75% of this
All of this fits quite nicely into a closet and other then the humm of the fan and heater there has never been a problem. Knock on wood I have only lost ONE jar in all the time I have been growing. In that time I have colonized about 800 jars.
I use a fan attached to a screened box to dry my shrooms and have been very happy with the results.
I am considering moving to a bulk tek using rye grain, but much like most of us, I hesitate due to the success I currently enjoy. I am getting a little sick of all of the work needed to prep and colonize 48 jars though.
I would appreciate any help that could be offered and thanks to all of the people that have posted and responded in the past. I have been lunking for years and wanted to thank all of you.

I did not always get that amount...in fact, I was only able to accomplish that after about a year of trials with the various add-on's. Like: The Inner Reservoir Tek, Ramsey seal, increasing the amount of BRF, cold shocking blah..blah..
Any advice on swithcing to a bulk rye grain tek?

That is quite the setup. What do you do with all those shrooms? Let some of them mature and spore print a ton and sell them for cheap and you could cover some of your costs.

Thanks. I enjoy growing and I hope it shows. As far as what I do with the shrooms ...I throw them all out, 'cause selling or ingesting them would be against the law and just like most people here, I would not want to do that.
I have recently purchased 200 micron magic filter disks and I am looking forward to trying them out. I hope that by using them it will cut the veg. time down and therfore increse my output. I use an Austalian strain of cubes that I got from Captin Max at sporelab and they are the largest shrooms i have seen, but take a while to colonize. Maybe the disks are thee answer.
Thanks again.

I don't use the device in the picture for a hygometer only for the temp. I know that the humidity stays consistant with the perlite so I don't even bother checking it anymore. Thanks for the compliment .

This image shows my screened drying box. The fan faces down and forces air to pass across the mushrooms that...
...are placed between the two hinged screens seen here. Once the mushrooms are placed between, the lid is shut and the fan is placed on top. Very simple , but effective. No heat is used and I can dry large amounts in a short period of time. I can supply full construction details if they are desired. Please send me a private messege. I hope this was helpfull.

Well you do tend to produce larger flushes using bulk substrate. May I suggest you go ahead and move on to bulk? Just remember the time it took you to prefect the pf tek will be similar to what it took you to prefect the bulk method! So if you are very comfortable with that method and do not want to risk perfecting something new then stick to what you got. I have seen awesome flushes from bulk substrate.

There's no need to screw around with rye if you wanna do bulk. Just go about your regular PF style cakes and when they are done inoculate a bulk substrate like a manure mix, straw, theres lots of choices. My favorite so far is the horse dung. I just take like 2 or 3 cakes to between 5-10 pounds of the doo and there you go it's bulk. Just a suggestion hope it helps.

I have a few questions:
Where would I find horse maure?
What kind of yeilds should I expect?
Do you use pint jars and would I still case with verm?
Thank you for your time and effort and I look forward to your response.

One question:
How long does it take you to complete a "cycle"?

I use a pure culture and inoculate the jars using the honey water Tek. I ensure sterility by using bothe a ramsey seal and the oven tek. The part that takes the most time is preping all the frigen jars! inoculating the jars is quick and easy.
