Building terrarium...

My thoughts and prayers to those affected by the recent attacks...anyway though, the MMGG talks about adding the thermometer/humidity meter to the terrarium, but I'm not clear on how this should be done. I have 2 ideas in my mind. One is there would be a hole cut in the side of the cooler and the gauge would be stuck in it and sealed around the edges, half in and half out, which I don't think would make sense since it would be exposed to the outside air, and the other is that a section would be cut out of the cooler and covered with plexiglass, and the gauge would be secured inside the terrarium against this window, which I assume would take up "valuable real-estate" as it is said, in adaptation-12 of version 3.2 of the MMGG, to avoid doing by following the adaptation. But maybe there's a different way? I'm confused!

they have humidity/temp combos at radio shack that have been used with success by posters here. its a clock sized thing that stands inside the terraium-

you dont have to have a window to see the temp/humidity of your chamber (and that window may get fogged up with humidity and you couldnt read it from the outside). you can just lift the lid and look at the readings- no need for a window.
