condensation on terrarium walls required?
    #1610011 - 06/05/03 02:41 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Is condensation on the terrarium walls a necessary requirement for indication of good humidity? Digital hygrometer maxed out (meaning +90% humidity) but I don't believe it since everyone mentions condensation on terrarium walls. I know that condensation on the plexiglass window just means that there is a temperature difference between the inside and outside of the terrarium, but isn't there supposed to be condensation on the inside walls? So far there is one cake in the terrarium and it grew some fuzzy mycelium (marshmellowy) which some have mentioned is an indication of high humidity. Soooo confused...

No it is def not a requirement. Condensation only happens when the outside temperature is lower than the inside temp of a terrarium. I have none, fruiting prolifically.

Fuzzy = high temp. The cakes are still growing as if they were in incubation stage, that is why you have the fuzzy myc growing.
