anyone in here use adobe after effects?

hi there

5 shrooms to anyone who can help me...

i want to be able to import an animated gif with a transparent background into my composition but don't know how to get rid of the white background (though transparent it shows as white..blah). how do i maintain the transparency of the background of the animated gif in this bloody program? urgh this is killing me...someone MUST know...
