Is it possible to wire 2 - 3V batteries both in series and parallel? *NEED 6v and 3V*

I am constructing an apparatus in which has 2 separate applications requiring 2 separate voltage supplies. The first of the 2 contraptions needs a 3 volt power source (but requires the most amps, while the second needs a 6 volt power source needing little to no amps. I have 2, 3 Volt camera batteries which fit perfectly into this device. If I wire these 2 batteries in parallel, then I will obtain a 3 Volt stream necessary for the first contraption--- but if wired in series, I will combine the 2 batteries for a 6 volt source (needed for the second contraption). Now, from these 2 batteries, can I wire them to obtain a single separate 3 volt flow as well as a 6 volt source without crossing/complications?

No. By wiring them in both parallel and series you are effectively shorting out your batteries. You will need to add a power supply to your project.

If you're not driving anything with complex requirements, i.e. simple motors or lights, etc. you can wire them as such:

A....B....C [those "."s are just for spacing...]
|--+|--+

A-C will give you 6V and A-B or B-C will give you 3V. You won't be able to draw as high current as if you ran the two batteries in parallel though. If the load has complex AC requirements, you probably need to add a bypass or build a regulated supply (as shroomydan said). This is based on my experience with building audio devices -- I'm not 100% sure it applies to all other areas.

Thanks for the help....Im wondering if I can just resist the one that can only take in 3 volts with a resistor or Voltage regulator. Thanks again for the help

I would wire the two in parallel givine high current at 3v and use a voltage doubler to get your 6v. A voltage doubler is very easy to construct.

Wow so you are saying if I wire that circuit board or watever in the schematic from that link I can aquire 6 volts from 2 AA batteries?---(wired in series) or 2 3V camera batteries wired in parallel?

Yes... with batteries you would need to use the second url... the first is for AC circuits while the second is for DC circuits. You can also do a search for "boost dc to dc converter"... they make self contained units with two wires coming in and two wires going out that will do exactly what you want. If you would rather go from 6 down to 3 do a search for "buck dc to dc converter" instead.
