dodgy builders
    #3820925 -

my lovely next door neighbours (seriously, they are lovely, i'm not being sartcastic) have employed some dodgy builders to erect a fence along our boundary line. i went out this morning to express my concern that they looked like they were about to build the fence on my land (judging by the holes dug so far) and not his. now i'd be happiest with no fence at all, but i realise most folks like to be fenced in. but i have a TINY garden, and dont want to lose any! i was as polite as possible given i needed to let them know the problem.

i got nothing but grief from him in return. he came over as a very unpleasant aggressive chap and wouldnt discuss it at all. luckily i am in all day, so i think i will go out and do some strategic gardening when they start work on my side. any advice or positive comments gratefully accepted!

shame the neighbours arent in or there wouldnt be a problem, but they have left this arsehole builder to his own devices.

If you own the property then you should have a map with property lines laid out...stick that in his face.

get powdered chalk, the kind they use in baseball to draw the diamond.
draw a line with it to represent YOUR property line.

then get a stake and staple a PRIVATE PROPERTY sign on it,
the put it in one of his holes he dug.

i like the idea of using one of his holes to put a sign in!

infortunately i dont have any chalk to hand - i have got some brown rice flower (cant think why i bought that!!!) maybe i could use some of that, but i can think of more constructive uses for it!

what i have got is a pile of old bricks and paving slabs. i think i will mark out the boundary with them later and tell him to ask my permission if he wants to move my slabs. i will then remain in the garden til he goes.
