Neglect Teks

Have been comparing Neglect tek and Qt Jar way revisited and hope someone can answer a few ?s.
Neglect Tek...step 14 seals up or down? step 19 in dark or light? Holes open or closed? What about co2,
is it a problem?

Qt Jar Way revisited....seals up or down? "tip the jars twice per day"..does this mean turn upside down since the rings are loose?

Any comments or additions for these two teks?

it doesn't matter if the seals are up or down. and the jars should only be in the light if you are trying to initiate pinning. co2 could be an issue with quart jars so you might want to tip them to let it out.

Here's what my friend does; you can apply it to both teks since they're alike...

-Seals up, it allows more air exchange. But down will work too.
-In light, right from the beginning. This will make pinning occur sooner.
-Holes closed as usual, until jar is completely colonized. Then, uncover the tape/tinfoil, and turn the jars on their sides. co2 shouldn't be a problem with this method...

Yeah... Once the jars are colonized, she takes the tinfoil off, gives the lid a 1/4 turn, and puts the jars on their sides... This will allow some gas exchange. They can be completely flipped over as well...

Oh yeah, and once she see's pins, she opens the top of the jar, and scrapes as much verm out of there as possible. Then, she slams the cake so that it comes off of the bottom of the jar, leaving room for mushrooms to grow there. Then she puts the lid back on, and keeps them on their sides.
