My personal favorites are Psilocybe Cyanescens. Quite strong (you only need a couple), smooth liftoff, minimum stomach weirdness, good visuals, usually a happy, euphoric kind of trip.

You know that eating mushrooms of any type is pretty much overrated. The ultimate psychedlic trip can only and will occure because of sitting in this dark ass cave of a room listening to halo benders and taking huffs of my old ass but still great for smearing rock shoes. Other than that try cyans if you have the fucking means to find them biaaatch. Ahh yea gotta love redbullvodka man at your door.

I live in Brooklyn Ny, so from doing some research on what kind of shrooms are around me, these are it...
Psilocybe caerulipes
Psilocybe semilanceata
Psilocybe silvatica
Panaeolus papillionaceus
Conocybe cyanopus
Gymnopilus luteofolius
Gymnopilus validipes
out of these which one would be the one i want?

Psilocybe semilanceata "Liberty Cap".
Ive always pondered about if many people gathering wild liberty caps in new york.. im curious of the abundancey of libs in ny.. im thinking that finding libs in upstate new york andriondak mountains would be much more probable, then finding then below the upstate/downstate line?heh
They must be in great abundance up there im sure.. the northeast portion of upstate ny bordering Lake Champlainn..
It would also seem that the liberty cap really should also grow wild in northern and central Vermont and NewHampshire, Green and White mountains, pastureland, dairys.. The thing is, is that within the text of 'mapping the mycelial network', Psilocybe semilanceata is Not listed for the states of VT, NH, and Maine (ME). Ive gota feeling that libs can be found in all four states ive mentioned.
Also, in all four states can be found Panaeolus subbalteatus.
Here is a full listing of psychoactive shrooms in new york from that one document which has a long name to type out by mjshroomer;
