slow growth

this is my first time growing shrooms and a few days after innoculation life exploded in my brf/verm jars. but after a few more days life seems to have ground to a hault. temps the same, nothing changed, yet now my toe nails are growing faster. contamination in two jars, there gone, but the others are fine. why are they groing so slow??? please help.

Several possibilities! Too low water content or need some air. If you are using canning jars with holes in the lids with a 1/2" layer of Verm on top open the tape and set the jars lid side down. if it is a water problem inject a small amount of STERILIZED water into the center of the cakes. Good luck!! Oh you may have packed them to tight also.

Its all about air exchange - if there is tape of over the innoculaion holes, then this will slow things down to a stand still... Flip them first to move some of those gases around, and if that doesnt help, take the ape off the holes, but be careful as contams can get in hell easy - my advice is to quickly put an alcohol swab over the hole and tape it down - it will act as a filter
