Coupla things RE: SSL

Good stuff, but a few things i've found....

1: I rated someone, and was under the SSl option, and it counted my rating as 2.  Little odd.

2: the marking of a thread as "read" takes a bit to kick in.  On the forum screen, it will show a forum as read, but not individual threads within the forum.
Hit or miss, sometimes it does it, sometimes it don't.

3:Occasionally it reloads EVERYTHING.....all the smileys, pictures, etc.
Slows down browsing a bit.  I'll deal with it, for the security, but thought i'd bring it to your attention.

Anyways, GREAT idea, thank you for implementing it (and giving us members a way to contribute :wink: ) and if i find anythign else odd, i'll letcha know.

Also, i should probably look into this myself, but would tabbed browsing have any compromising effects on the security?  Not too sure about this one....buess it's time for me to read up on firefox.

Here's another question

will supporters be given the option of using the IRC server using SSL (you can use openSSL as a client to work it on +6668 or something)

and maybe the ability to hide their ident DNS shtuff?

Hey Randolph Carter, thanks for reporting those problems. I haven't noticed them myself but I'll look into it and see if I can figure out what's going on. The goal is for the SSL browsing experience to be as fast and seamless as the regular site.

To answer your question, tabbed browsing shouldn't have any effect on the site's security. If you are viewing a page which starts with https:// it will be secure regardless of whether it's in a dedicated browser window or a tab.

blinkidiot that's a great idea, we hadn't been planning on this but I will ask Vamp if he can look into it.
