SSL Prompt.

ok this is going to be a long winded explanation...

seems that there have been some updates in the last couple of days to when the server prompts for username and password for SSL...

before it wouldn't prompt me for SSL if i used the quick "signin" button (circled in red in the pic below)towards the top of the forum index page that takes you to the forum index page after login.
however it would prompt me if i used the "login" button (circled in green in the pic below) that is a little further down, in the centre of the page, i have my settings to take me to my homepage when i sign in and that seems to be the difference.



now it still doesn't prompt me for SSL if i use the quick "signin" button which takes me to the forum index page after login.
but it does prompt me for SSL before i even enter my username and password for the normal login procedure.

Thanks for catching this. That might explain the weird support tickets lately from people who "can't log in". Can you confirm that it's fixed?

i can confirm that the "login" way is fixed :yesnod:

it still doesn't prompt me if i use the quick "signin" button though...
i can read and send PM's without being on a secure connection... only when i go back to the forum index or click on a thread or my homepage will it prompt me...

anyway, thanks man :thumbup:

Cool, that sounds like how it's supposed to work, enabling SSL in your preferences doesn't force you to use secure URLs, it just makes that the default for links. The problem was everyone was getting that prompt (even non-supporters) on the login page; I'll do some more testing but I think it looks good. :smile:
