I would say rig up a glovebox. I lost a lotta dishes this month myself, here is a pic of one I did last week but now there is a evil invader lurking on the edge :P

Hey Psilo

Ive done 2 agars, one multispore and one clone. Without glovebox/flowhood. Both are fine! :thumbup:

Will try get a pic, I do it in empty babyfood jars though. Works good.

Before I come into action I spray my bathroom (only working area and bit around me the door, etc) with vinagre and H2O2. Wipe it away.
Take the pc-ed-material and other stuff, scalpels etc. inside and clean that with alcohol.

But I have my "agar" (its just a mix of brf and malt extract) PC-ed in the jar! I have an inoculation hole in the lid, multispore injection can be done PF-style.
My first clone:
- bathroom and agar-jar everything was ready
- scalpel was alcohol cleaned
- take the mushroom in (wipe scalpel again)
- cut a piece out
- lift the lid
- drop the tissue
- lid back

Ok I sometimes use gloves, have bought a mouthcap but have not used it yet.

Ofcourse a flowhood etc is even better, but if you aint that rich, ghetto teks can surely work!!

Just take the plates with the contaminated agar inside them and put them back in the pressure cooker.
put some coffee cups inside the PC so you have something to stack the plates on and keep them out of the water.
let the cooker cool on it's own then take them out.
I put a wad of alcohol soaked cotton on the vent hole so the air is filtered somewhat as the pc cools and sucks back in the air
don't forget to wrap the edges of your plates with masking tape,painters low tack tape, parafilm or saran wrap.
I cut a 1.5 inch chunk off the end of a roll of saran wrap with a bread knife and use it like parafilm(I'm a cheap bastard!)


I had a batch of Agar go bacteria on me and I just PCd it again to kill them.
strange thing is that myc seems to grow faster on the re sterilized agar...like it was partially pre digested by the bacteria or the bacteria's bodies are acting as a food themselves for the mycelium.
