to birth or not to birth?
    #367334 -

a couple days ago I posted a question about a jar that I have that seemed to be growing a fluffy very-light-grey material uniformily (as opposed to growing radially out from the innoculation points which is the way I usually see the jars).

I was told to isolate this jar from the others, a couple days have past, and... the jar is completely colonized, the thing is... it's not BRIGHT white, like the other jars, almost an off white, but... it looks like mycelium. I'm sure that cobweb mold is grey, but... isn't it also stringy? the "mycelium" (and/or contamination) is fluffy looking, not stringy.

should I birth it or toss it? not like 1 jar is really that much, but... i'm curious :)

thx!

Maybe you should leave it in the jar for now... Give it light, but dont birth it. When pins start to form IN the jar, then take it out, pick them off and let it grow like a normal cake.
