I usually recommend NameCheap for domain names ($8.88 per year, one of the better prices out there). For hosting, perhaps try HostForWeb, they've got an inexpensive $5 a month package which should be more than enough for your needs (not that I know your needs) and I know they do very well, plus the support is spot on.

Generally, if you pay for a domain name with a hosting package, you're going to get RIPPED on the domain name (some places charge like $10-15 a year :o ).

namecheap for ALL my domain names. Like he said 8.88 for a year, nothing beats it.

Then go and find cheap hosting package from a reputable place.

Be careful though, there are tons of wannabe web hosts who are jumping onthe bandwagon and using packaged hosting software(cpanel) that are not too good. They lack the computing requirements, and have bad uptimes.
