Help! Dry casing is pinning!
    #362399 -

In a stupor last night while sampling the friuts of his labor, a FOAF left the lid on his terrarium slightly off. Upon checking his experiment this morning he saw the humidity had dropped to 70% overnight and the 50/50 massively pinning casing looked dry. The lid was this way for about 12 hours. What should my friend do to rehydrate the casing layer safely with all those pins around? Would a light mist about three feet above the casings work? Or how about injecting water around the perimeter of the casing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its dark and humid in here. Just me and my fungus.

Just myst the sides to raise the humidity back up and put the lid back on. It should be ok.

Yeah, listen to Capt. Max :)

AFOAF has had grow chambers with humidity at 70% for days and all she really did was mist the trays themselves and they always turned out fine:)

Just give them a good misting and they'll be OK

Thanks! I did a light misting and got the humidity back up where it belongs. The pinning is massive! They are everywhere. This is my friends first casing and he is really impressed with the amount of pins. So far so good. Things should get really interesting now.

Peace

Celsius,
Unfortunately all I have is a web cam and the pictures off of it suck. And no I have had zero luck with SporeChicks. I was robbed!
Anyway, my firends terrarium with the casings is now hovering around 92% humidity. The surface of the 50/50 casing looks really dry. Will this be a problem or will the pins get their moisture from below the casing surface? I would appreciate any suggestions for this crucial stage of this experiment.

Peace

Yeah, i want to see some pics of that setup too, BTW keep misting more often for a day or two, just don't make it a swamp.

Cheers,
MAIA
