casing flushing cakes

Can six cakes that have been flushing for a couple of weeks be crumbled and/or cased to improve yield????? What would be the best tek for doing this????? Thanx.

What I mean is: while cakes are flushing, can they be cleaned of fruits (sporocarps, abhorts, ect.) and cased in a nutritive mixture (crumbled or not) so that the mycelium will spread and eventually continue to fruit with greater yeild. Thanx!!!!!
