Yup it's true, i am quite biased toward the jar idea... i believe in the pf tek, thats why i sell the jars... if i believed in casings or poo, i'd be selling those instead... the thing i hate about bulk growing methods, is that one spot of contam, and you're done, you have to throw out the whole casing... with jars, if one goes bad, you toss it, and the rest of them are fine...

Also if you let your PF jars colonise longer than necessary then contams in your casing are allmost non-existant ...
I never get this with 100% or over colonised pf tek type jars  :thumbup:

Alright, lets say you knock up 6 brf pf jars and 6 rye jars.

Now, the pf jars might be colonized in what... 2 - 3 weeks? And the rye, since its shakeable, would take no more than 2.

Now, another reason I like grains over pf, is you get more water to your mycelium. Sure, you could dunk the cakes, but you could do the same with the grains. With rye especially, if you simmer like the teks say you're getting so much water into your substrate. You can't do that with pf cakes.

no way. The nute content is so much higher in wbs than brf. Straight millet casings have always been my most potent grows. I agree with the corn claim though. I havent had very potent mushrooms with my corn casings.

I like growing mold better than shrooms, they yield nearly a 99.98% success rate! Any substrate/tek is great for growing mold! Potency is never an issue, they all seem to get you just as sick, no matter which substrate you use!

Spore collection is easy, just add some water to a contaminated jar and shake... then pour through a coffee filter. You get nearly 90% of the most viable mold spores that way.

Just take any TEK and remove the words, "Sterilize", "Wait", "Quickly", "Cover", "Lids", "Tyvek". Then replace these words...
"Alcohol" = "Sugar water"
"Peroxide" = "Maple syrup"
"Distilled water" = "Toilet water"
"Fan/Air-pump" = "Seal air-tight"
and there you have it... My MOLD TEK!
