this is getting to be a habit, needless to say (but ill say it anyway) i collect about a half dry pound weekly.
and these guys are dang potent. i dont know why, maybe it has something to do with conditions or their visable mutations... but they seem to be bigger and stranger looking evry day. and yes, these are all off my front lawn :) i pick evry morning when i get home from work, it hasnt rained in over a week, yet they grow dayly in bug fat beautiful bunches. especially when i water the lawn just before dark. cheers. ohyeah, theres a conocybe lacaeta out there as big as my fist. just thought id mention it.
MJ... what kind of pans do you think these are? i think ive got many different types out here. and quite frankly id have to say they are about the same as cubensis by dry weight for potency. my friends and I ate about a half ounce each and were melting into one another in crazy town all night, talking with gestures and laughing out of controll. i kept going to the bathroom, but i couldnt pee because the bathroom was evil. finally there was nothing but a triangle in all my senses. evrywhere i looked was the same thing. then some dang fool put on "hotel california" and i thought i had it ALLLLL figured out. this was the end of time, no tomorrow, and all of us were one. once again, i had become god. my friends were running around crazy cutting up the leftover shrooms with scisors (steely knives) it was so cool. i almost threw up, but not from nausea, but rather the intense urge to turn inside out. down was up and up was down. and dispite all this i was the only one able to stay quiet. i had to keep reminding people NOT to wake the neighbors.
then my arms fell off.
later, after i came down alot i looked at myself in the mirrior. what i saw was a stained glass window of jesus with my head.... holy fuck. anyway, heres the pics of my holy sacrament.

ok, update... so soon? yes!
you guys getting sick of me yet?
anywho.
it would seem that these guys are getting bigger and bigger and more numerous evryday. well some good news just came on my TV. were getting scattered showers thruought the day and rain all night. the last time it rained there were blankets of these guys. this time however they are going so strong i recon it will be even moreso. they are going to be comming out of my ears. ill have to find SOMEONE with a digi camera because id hate to pass up this photo shoot possibility.
ever go picking strawberries and get red fingers? well i get black fingers from all the spores oh, and after i scanned those in i went out and picked another batch about the same size, so i just chucked them into the drying chamber. ive gotten very good at drying mushrooms, i have to, if i diddnt id be overrun with fresh mushrooms in a few days. kinda like last time it rained. i had an entire newspaper spread out all over my room, it looked like i had just gotten a puppy and he had been buisy shitting mushrooms all night. so yah. yah yah yah, this place is pardise for me. i dont even have to leave my yard to hunt for mushrooms. if anyone happens to be in nova scotia and wants to take a trip, just ring my bell and id be happy to share. :)

Hola Mitch
All these pictures of your piles of pans are making me curious as to how you achieved this garden of mycologial wonders. I cant seem to find the original post, but I seem to remember you saying something about laying out a mixture of grass seed/straw/manure. If you would be so kind as to explain how this happened one more time or hook me up with a link to the original post, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, did you use fresh manure from a friendly farmer, or manure in bags from home depot? Thanx ahead of time for any info you provide =)

ahh, as gumbyDude pointed out this was not mearly a stroke of luck but rather a carefully planned and constructed eventuality conceived months ago by me.
step one, run a roto-till over the lawn. uproot all grass and weeds, you may choose to add flower gardens and water garden to your yard at this stage as i did. after all landscaping work is pricy so you might as well do it awesome.
now that you have a yard full of choppy sod, you must rake it all up and remove it, it can come in handy for a compost heap for outdoor beds if you happen to like to grow cubensis.
raking it all up took me and my cousin about 4 days full time labour.
next step, you lay down topsoil about 3 inces thick. preferably red sandy soil. now that youve got all that done comes the good part. go to your local mushroom farm and purchace a dumptruck load of spent dung-straw substrate used for growing portabellas and other agaricus mushrooms. dump it on a tarpolin in your driveway (warning, it stinks, 10 minutes after we dumped it our neighbor put a for sale sign on his lawn)
now spread the manure/straw till the entire yard is black, stinky, and attracting flies.
at this point you should roto-till the soil 2-3 times untill its all mixed and homologous.
now you plant grass seed. use 15% kentucy blue, 60% red fescue, and the rest should be annual rye, just to give the lawn a boost. water daily keeping it moist, be careful not to flood. this BTW should be about april.
you can add spores if you want to, i added panaeolus subbaltaetus and psilocybe cubensis B+. i simply chopped up print papers that were already used and sprinkled them on the lawn in the rain. funny thing is tho, the lawn seeded itself with conocybe laceata, psilocybe semiglobata (or something)
and various other paneolus and coprinus speceis.
the first magic began to rise once the lawn had become green and cut a few times. it continues to stregnthen even now.
the goal was to create a front lawn, it was my input and side-work that produced the shrooms. this is my parents lawn. i know mushrooms are illigal to cultivate.... but nobody is going to arrest me for having them grow on my lawn.
the psilocybe cubensis never came up. but then april in nova scotia isnt exactly warm.
the project costed about $1000 water garden supplies, $200 topsoil, $200 in rentals $345 for spent mushroom compost (dumptruck load)
and lost more stuff too. so now we have a lawn. its real purty. IF i commercially sold the mushrooms i grew here then it would have easily paid for evrything. but i just share them. after all, its not MY lawn and i paid nothing :) BUT I was the one to do the back-breaking work. yeesh :)

Around where I am, they don't have mushrooms yet, so I'm thinking of all the ways I could get some, well, the way you have found seems to be best, it is times like each week you do that, that makes for really steady. Word. I just feel you have an advantage over me, because you have mushrooms already, and thus, I am "declined" in our official muishroom hunting contest. I still think though that you are the coolest of friends, we are close friends, but I still want to beat you in the contest, I am going to find the most mushrooms.
