Does the common reed canary grass that you find almost everywhere have high enough alkaloid levels for a decent extraction, and would it hurt to try?
btw what happened to the lyceaum?

They lycaeum has been down for quite awhile, I've heard that they were having server problems, but if that was all I'd imagine they would have been back up by now. Oh, well
Now to the question at hand. Reed Canary grass does contain alkaloids, mostly 5-meo-dmt, but not a whole lot. You would have to use mass quantities of the grass to get a decent extraction out of it. But if you have access to huge quantities of the grass then by all means extract away.

oh damn i don't like the words "huge quantities"
whats a rough estimate for say a little below average alkaloid content (never hurts to underestimate :) yeilding a decent dose or two
are we talking five gallon buckets of this stuff?, please don't say bails hehe

it has ~0.060%dmt(mix) this decreases when it is dried so 1kg would give you .6 g assuming its say a 70% efficient extraction you'll get 420mg i think its worth it considering this would cost you a few $100's from a re. chem supplier

but purchasing Mimosa hostilis rootbark, well, a pound will cost between $US 100-200, and will yield between 0.5 & 1.0 %, so a gram of pure elfspice will probably cost you under $100... not bad, i'd say...
my extrraction attempts on stressed, homegrown reed canary grass yielded nada, (and might well have given mostly 5MeO-DMT antway---and i can purchase that for under $200/gm), so i went back to Mimosa (although i do have some homegrown Desmanthus i am gonna get around to oneof these days...)
YMMV

ya reed canary grass is all over the place, i'd have some farmer friends bail me some but i don't know how i'd ever extract it :), is that mimosa or desmanthus i. any big difficulty to grow, i might try that...
