i got some music and when i tried to play a couple songs this page automatically came up with this message, these's no address in the addy box either so no link.
Quote:
A license is required to play this file The file you are trying to play was ripped (copied) from an audio CD. During the ripping process, the file was "protected." This limits the number of computers on which the file can be played. To play the file on this computer, you must download a license (a process known as "license migration"). A license acts an electronic key that allows you to "unlock" a protected file and play it. To download a license for this file, click Download License.
i defentaly did not download that shit but anyone know what it is? like another source for it rather the M$ if there actually is such a thing as they claim rather than some tracker or similar. the stuff i have is pretty hard to find that bring this page up.

What software did you use to rip the CD? it sounds like DRM was incorporated when the music was ripped.

yeah, that's why you should always avoid .wma files. they sound incredibly shitty and they have these copyright protections.
people need to learn to rip properly and stop propagating these bogus encodings.
if people are going to do .mp3 learn to use Exact Audio Copy + LAME (alt preset standard/extreme) or just razorlame - these are all free and easy to get/use. they produce amazing results (as amazing as lossy files get, of course).
or fuck it, use .ogg

Ogg Vorbis rules.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

Fastest CD ripping i've ever seen. Does OGG and MP3 so far, have yet to test other functions.

The person you got this cd from ripped the cd with windows media player and when you rip cds with windows media player there is an option that says would you like to put a protection on these song files and the person who ripped it obviously put yes so that is why you can't play it on your computer. This doesn't necessarily mean it is a .wma file because windows media player also rips mp3's as well.

just because it rips mp3 doesnt mean it is quality.
Like I said, the only quality .mp3 is a LAME encoding. EAC and razorlame are two programs I recommend.
