not easy to pick just one! if you want to know my favorite live performance, at this moment it is a tie between scarlet begonias > fire on the mountain from may 8, 1977 and one more saturday night april 8, 1972...on studio cd, box of rain

i really like the brent mydland years. he was absolutly phenomenal!
jerry was in and out those years, but when he was on, those were the best shows in my opinion. not to take anything away from vinnie or pigpen. late 70's and all of the eighties, specifically '83 :thumbup:

I love Kieth's playin' man. His playing on the cadence ending the Scarlet/Fire from 5/8/77 is so brilliant man. I also like that he played on an acoustic piano. He is my fav. by far

yes to all of those, but one more sat. night. bobby kinda burned me out on that one. 3 tours later. it took a WHILE to do this, but i got to where i just would leave at the begining of because it almost always served as an encore.

Actually, my computer was named prophet after Estimated Prophet.

I can't decide between these. Dancing from 5/8/77 is pretty damn good too, but Dancing has ruined some pretty excellent shows, so it can't go in my top 5.

The caution /spanish jam on the dick pick from 1981 is pretty damn good to. The Darkstar>JAM>Sugarmagnolia on Dick Pick 2.

Can you really reduce this to just one tune.

I have a love hate relationship with Eyes. Sometimes the chorus just kills me, but then the Jaming just makes me so HAPPY.

Yes picking a single song is um um um VERY DIFFICULT.

A little off topic here... I was watching the show My coolest years on VH1 and it was about "dirty hippies" about half way into the show my sister turns to me and said "Ya know J. you're a dirty hippie, just like them. But that's cool cause hippies are wicked cool" Man I laughed so hard mt. dew came out my nose...
