Yeah saw it at Deer Creek this year. Saw it last year at Red Rocks with Joan singing. It was good but Haynes' singing is much more fitting. I've also seen Phil & Friends play it once or twice. I loved that song since the first time I heard it at the Phil show at Alpine 2001.

Yeah I hear ya Chinacat. But some songs just move me in a way that many of their other songs don't. Don't get me wrong, pretty much all their songs move me but some do much more deeply on an introspective level than others. Thus my list above.
Oh yeah and Bird Song should be on my list above.
I think you can tell a lot about a person by their favorite Dead songs they pick...

You are troubled. You're mind has a keen sense of the view through the looking glass and you have a good grasp on the importance of love on both a personal and universal basis.

I always answer these posts by saying I can't pick just one, but "Eyes of the World" has a special place in my heart

i have too many but here are a few:
Terrapin Comes a Time Wharf Rat Jack-a-Roe (yeah i know it's traditional but I love the way they used to do it) eyes help/slip/franklins box of rain row jimmy dark star bird song u.s. blues Loose Lucy scarlet/fire cassidy ripple st. stephen the wheel any of the Dylan covers esp. masterpiece, tangled up in blue and it's all over now baby blue
I know thats a lot but i tried to narrow it down. And yeah, I know they are mostly Jerry songs.

Good list Phishgrrl. All the ones on your list that aren't on my list are ones I looked over. I mean how could I leave out Comes a Time, Box of Rain, The Wheel. Damn I guess I love all their songs.
Oh and Days Between can't forget that.

thank ye. Yeah Days Between is very nice but never really got to connect with it enough. There are def. a few of there songs I don't ever want to hear live to make room for the really good ones. Like Picasso Moon or Victim or the crime for instance.
