Is it on a colonised cake, uncolonised cake, or a casing?
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

Toss it, its not worth the trouble of trying to save it, if you could ever save it.

All depends on the contamination really, however I doubt you could kill someone, probably just make them really sick from the toxins released by the contaminate. Sometimes mushroomse will still grow, but my experience has shown that they just get devoured by whatever the contam is aswell, resulting in a bunch of rotting mushrooms.

Sometimes you can get lucky like that, sometimes not. You can keep the jar it should be fine now. I had a jar with cobweb mold and just to see how things would go I left it and it over took the cobweb, another time I did the same and the mushroom mycelium lost and was killed. You may want to isolate the cake however, just incase the contam was a fungus and spores are still left on the cake. But thats up to you, it may be fine in a casing or with other cakes.
