I don't know about Canada, but yopo is legal in the states. You can order it, grow it, possess it, rub a friend with it, whatever. And if it's not a "high", then what is it? An "intoxicant", "entheogen", "plant based hallucinogen", "sacrament". Maybe its a "bad" legal "high"?
This is what Erowid says:
"Neither Anadenanthera colubrina, Anadenathera peregrina nor any other Anadenanthera species are controlled species in the United States. Live plants and seeds are legal to buy, sell or possess. However, DMT, one of the chemicals contained in the plant, is Schedule I in the U.S. Practically, this means that if an extraction is done on DMT containing Anadenanthera species, the resulting DMT is illegal to possess. We are unaware of any cases in which an individual has been prosecuted after doing a home extraction of an Anadenanthera plant, although it seems possible that a few such cases might exist."
Far from legal, huh?

maybe he meant that it is illegal to ingest?  preping my seeds right now :smile:

my seeds inerds are black...is that perhaps teh difference between the 2 species?  i have colubrina.

just tried it had 3 hits ntohing.  so i crakced open a couple more seeds and itis white...guess the other 2 were rotten or duds or somthing.  trying the white ones now.

yea its illegal to ingest. of course you can posses it thats why vendors can sell it. sorry for my unclearity.

i was smoking as was mentioned above.  im contemplating snorting...the thought still weirds me out a little.  ive been going back and forth in my head what to try next :rolleyes:

i probably wont use lime if i do go that route....that jsut sounds liek a not very comfortable thing to do :smirk:

dont much care for the taste neither....ive been doing it on the couch cause i expected it to kick me in the ass pretty fast liek salvia...on the deck this time. drying a couple more seeds right now.

Maybe try not drying the seeds and just mixing in a little of something else that burns better to help it along. I didn't peel or dry my seeds, just crushed them and mixed with a dry leafy material.

i tried non dried (but i did peel) the first time...but it was black. i also attempted to with the white but it wouldnt burn at all. ill try your method if i feel up to it tonight. or else i'll do it tomarow. after this im giving up and will use the rest for growing, and if any left vers snuff. thanks for all the help...im always mess it up first time around.

try a bucket hooter with dry seeds. get a huge hit and its easier to get it all burnt. and if that doesnt work with 4 5 seeds then they are prob really old or harvested at wrong time or that season just didnt produce enough alkaloids. good luck

evertime i've smoked yopo is out of a grav, i take one hit and try to hold it as long as possible. the effects always come on very strong

I read this through this whole thread so i'll post generally.

Smoking foliage of P. viridis doens't do anything, even with an MAOI.

I've heard of smoked yopo seeds with decent effect no maoi used, toasted and peeled.

Entheomation and I went to the NE Gathering 2004 in June and we brought along quite a lot of yopo seeds cooked em up good over a camp fire and cooked up some sea shells and crushed em up good. Snorted some, mild effects over powered by some burning due to the sea shells. Moral, don't use sea shells if all you have is a pan and a rock to crush it up with. I remember entheo saying it didn't feel too pleasant, and it didn't for me either. Mild effect though.

well i had 6 seeds sitting here that i sorta gave up on growing. i dried em up peeled them and jsut smked 3. i feel somthing not quite sure what to comapre it with, nothing strong. certaings a little confusing and my gut feels a little tight. just thought id write this before i have some more. stuff tastes nutty.

Why not perform a small extraction? Take a nice amount of seeds lets say 20 (for anyone who has that many ) ,pulverise them and add dilute HCL  to turn alkaloids into salts.Shake,let it sit,shake again let it sit some days,evaporate,smoke the goo....Vinegar can be used as well :laugh:

i dotn have that many :frown:  i got 3 0r 4 left.  smoking the last time gave me some effects, no mindblowing stuff liek other dmt plants.  but it was neat.  i find it hard to smoke honestly.
