Hey shroomerites Im wondering something. I see among the uninitiated in this field the assumption that anyone knows what their doing through any other method besides "trial and error". What gives, like why coat vermiculite with dry rice flour instead of SIMPLY using whole (organic) brown rice? Because Mr. George P. Fanaticus says so? Because its easier to blame someone else for your failure when you're trying something new instead of accepting "okay, i'm an idiot BUT maaybe if I change THIS for THIS reason.."? Its like eating nothing but nasty-ass McDonalds and never ever preparing your own meal (actually I cant lie I kinda like fast food from time to time, although the food you cook yourself gives you a better understanding of the whole process and when you get good at it it actually tastes good! Me no lie!) These mushrooms have been around for a lot longer than the people that have been recently making a living off cultivation products and techniques. All im saying is the universe is endless. Like, the next super cultivation tek is in your brain just waiting for you to try it. :)=D o0O)}>I seem to be a verb<{(O0o the FSR is groovalicious !!Crobih is my founder of the Shroomery!!Edited by Nagual on 06/21/01 11:43 PM.

Actually, it was a Dr. Pollock I believe who experimented with all sorts of different substrates and discovered that brwon rice flour worked best.

And besides...despite the modest yields, BRF kicks out some kickass potency...

Actually, it was a Dr. Pollock I believe who experimented with all sorts of different substrates and discovered that brwon rice flour worked best. Max You seem very intelligent and all but we all operate (like the shrooms) within certain parameters. The BRF worked best among the stuff he (the god you call Dr Pollock) tried. MAYBE just maybe someone who's alive (or young) will try something among the multitude that dr pollock never even considered which will be better. All im saying is to be open to possibilities and not to be afraid of experimentation; as a wise man once said "lahf is lahk a box a' choclit, ya never know what ya maht git" :| Plus fear is a waste of time! :)=D

Not all people are adept at experimentation and find it difficult to do things some find simple as hell. Thats why these itemized step by step techs exist, that and it gives someone a foot hold to start. I assume most people begin innovating their substrates, growing environments, sterilization methods etc, after they have had success a few times. People who don't ever innovate or experiment may not think the same way some of the "mad scientists" on this board and else where do, and are completely content in waiting for one of these innovaters to come up with something more difficult for them to try.
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.
