ohio
    #3412414 -

im sorry i know this has probably been addressed a million times. i just heard recently on the tv that they were going to recount ohio. i am well educated on polotics so if they do do a recount and they find kerry won what does that mean. he already stepped down, or is that an informal way to give up. can someone please help me im confussed. i hope it means that kerry can still have a chance. but i still think im getting my hopes up.

Bush is president again now. If someone finds proof that there was fraud in Ohio then it means Bush isn't a valid president but that don't really mean anything cause he wasn't a valid president before but we put up with him anyway.

This is just a symbolic appeasement for the Loonies. "see we are really fighting for YOU"

the recount in Ohio is being requested jointly by David Cobb (the Green party candidate) and Michael Badnarik (the libertarian candidate). They were interviewed on NPR and said that the point of the recount is not to try to have the state's electoral votes go to Kerry - but is instead to come up with a full report as to what kind of fraud, voter-mishaps, and so forth occured in Ohio. They said explicitly in the interview that they had no intent, nor any hopes, that Kerry would be deemed president due to this recount - but simply that the American people deserve to know the specifics of this highly-contested election - and that such a report might help us in the future in planning and holding elections.

no, it seems that for all his talk about how horrible a president Bush is - at the end of the day, Kerry is still a multi-multi-millionaire who ends up benefiting from the current corporate agenda of America.

I'm benefiting from a number of corporations. When my company was bought by a corporation, I got a raise and more benefits. Also I got almost $9,000 in dividends this year so far from one non-retirement account from shares of REIT stocks and bond funds (including corporate bonds). My three IRAs and 401K are doing pretty good, too.

That's true - nothing can be changed overnight. It's a good thing that I've got many, many more nights (or at least I hope!) to work on setting a change in motion. We will never have a "utopia" unless we create it ourselves. If we give up - say "well this is the way things are, so i might as well get mine" - I have a sneaking suspicion that the world might not be around for our children's children to enjoy. (if not their children - then their children after that - whatever generation it is, you get the point). Unless we create a sustainable future, we won't have a future!
