Comfortably Numb ,on "week long" acid trip
    #3401606 -

well a while back i was stuck up in my house for a week doing about 5or6hits though out each day, it was kinda rough but it was a great week ,well on to it

from the first hit to the last and all between i had "Comfortably Numb" playing none stop really loud for the entire "week long" trip.it was a big factor in keepin' level. it has had a profound effect on me since,i don't listen to it much now it's very special.

so have any of you guys/girls had a song that just makes you cling to reality like this?

Damn dude.

Um, Beatles songs are spiritual hymns to me just like Dead songs are to hard core Deadheads.

I used to feel that way about Steve Hillage. Totally safe in the face of psychedelic turbulence! Saved me from trip worse than death.
But gripping desperately to reality doesn't do it for me now, so I go with Butthole Surfers, who take me to some very interesting places.
Do you like any other Pink Floyd? The Wall tends to leave me depressed now. I reckon that Comfortably Numb is about heroin addiction.

Oh, I LOVE the film. The bit where the boy finds the sick rat, right? That bit always makes me cry. What about those Gerald Scarfe animations.. cool, huh?
I always thought that the words had another agenda. As I see it, it's about descending into depression, drug abuse and madness.
"OK, just a little pin prick. There'll be no more AAAARRRGGGHHH, but you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up? I do believe it's working, good! That'll keep you going for the show, cmon, it's time to go..."
Total heroin, IMHO.

Damn listening to the same song would have drove me insane. Grateful Dead doing Dear Mr. Fantasy however is one of those songs for me that helps me cling to reality.
