Mycelium question/concern

I have a couple jars that are almost fully colonized.

But on the bottom, rather than the mycelium spreading, it appears to be almost bubbling out of the bottom of the cake. They are little spherical puffs.

Is this normal? Or does this sound like some sort of contam?

yeah its normal, i would think. do you chack your jars alot? it sounds like prepin.

Your cakes will get little bumps all over them before they start to pin. Hyphal knots I beleive they are called. This is totally normal and is a good sign.
