first time tripper-question about weight

I am going to buy 3/8 ounce of most likely psilocybe cubensis pretty soon. I've never bought or even tripped before, so i'm not really sure what to expect on how much will be in the bag. I've checked a couple websites, and couldn't find what i'm looking for. Basically, my question is..... How much psilocybe cubensis is equal to about an eighth ounce? How many full shrooms, caps, stems, or otherwise should i expect in an eighth bag? If anyone had sites that'd be helpful, send them ahead.

You can't really tell with dried ones. Especially if you have just chunks of them.

Although I imagine you could grind it all up into powder, and take a fraction of it. It would be easier to eye-ball a dose that way.

if we could tell you that, you could do the same by dividing the amount of mushrooms by 3. For the same reason, its not possible. Mushrooms can differ insanely in weight. If you can't get a scale and know its 3/8 for sure, the powder might work. Grind it all up together and gel cap them (if thats how you want to take it, theres a plus too :P ) and take 1/3 of those.

thanks. i'm not too worried much about how much i'm going to eat, i'll just eyeball that probably. but i just wanted to make sure to try and not get ripped off by the dealer, I've never bought anything from this one before. any suggestions for that? or is pretty much just a "hope he gives me the right amount" kind of thing unless i have a scale (while i don't).

If they're wet, don't buy them unless it feels like you have 10 times the weight in your bag that you should.

Dried mushrooms, as long as there aren't any monsters, will generally fill the bag up like a bag of weed if they're all completely dry.  So just eye it up, and if it looks like it's right, it probably is.  But if you have scales, DEFINATELY use them.  Weed is the only thing I'll buy without a scale handy to make sure I'm getting what I'm handing over hundreds of dollars for. :thumbup:

it sounds like you are looking for someone to take a picture of their 8th and post it, without asking for that. so i would suggest that if all you want is a picture of some wieghts you should go to the grow log forum and take a look at people's yeilds becuase those are almost always weighed and pictured. good luck!
