this might sound a little dorky but me and a friend both took about 2 grams and sat and watched FLCL (trippiest anime ever) but if you dig anime definetly watch it when your tripping its funny as all hell and there is alot more appreciation for the artists style. FLCL throws alot of stuff in there to catch you off guard
TRY IT!

I like watching Princess Mononoke when I'm buzzed. It's a really good movie. I wouldn't call it "trippy" though.

CAT SOUP!!! the trippiest anime I have ever seen. Seriously, only 30 min long, but the craziest shit ever. Watch the scene where everything goes backwards, awesome!

FOOLY COOLY
and yes, this is one of the greatest ranimes of all time. In terms of sound, style, and how much it plays off so many other things (the whole thing is a running parody of a shitload of different things) it is defintaly worth watching, at least once.
btw, do i get a candy? i like candy, especially the super sweet ones.

Oh shit, I just now realized what anime your talking about(did a google search). They used to show it on adult swim. Yeah that shit was fuckin crazy. The kid would have a robot pop out of his head and all kinds crazy shit involving guitars and oversized irons and shit. Damn that was some good anime. I used to get blasted and watch that before Cowboy Bebop came on.

Adult Swim was a program on the Cartoon Network which had shows specifically for adults. It was a mix of fucked up japanese anime and crazy american toons (sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force). I got all the Cowboy Bebop on DVD,(Mushroom Samba!!!!) I haven't had cable in nearly a year, so I don't know whats going on. But back in the day, Cartoon Network was the shit.

No one's mentioned Sprited Away huh? It's fucking crazy. Hard to follow tripping, but every once in a while (ie. all the fucking time) something strange happens and you're like "wtf is going on."
But, when you're on mushrooms, what the fuck is going on anyway?

Spirited Away is cool and trippy even when .. not tripping heh. That's a good one to watch if you can follow it.
I liked the Animatrix, I thought it had really cool ideas and the most insane animators. It held my attention with how it's broken up into different stories/segments... check it out.

Furi Kuri flippen rocks.
I haven't watched Mononoke or Spirited away tripping, but back before Castle in the Sky was available in North America, I watched a Hong Kong bootleg of it with Chinese subtitles... it was pretty heavy duty. Jo Hisaishi's score is phenomenal, as is the story and detail in the animation. I love Miyazaki movies, even though 2-D animation usually bugs me when I'm on shrooms.

Nice thread. I recommend watching "Samurai Deeper" when tripping on mushrooms. Get the sub-titled versions of the episodes. When you are tripping and watching the anime, totally disregard the subtitles and just listen and watch. It is amazing. Intense sound and intense visuals.
