what happened to the site in ~2000?
    #3390919 -

I was looking back to try to find my old posts. I had to reregister for some reason around 2001. Prior to that I had been extremely active here with hundreds of posts, so I went back to find some of them and now most of the threads have anonymous for most everyones name.

Even before that year we've had large upgrades that caused us to lose old info...

Very sadly.

But this will NEVER happen again.

I certainly hope not.
No disrespect intended, but it was a bit of a shock to come back and find most of my posting history destroyed.

Well when you had zero funding; no servers of our own, no full time administrators..... Yeah things go wrong unfortunately.

I wish we could have protected the past, I value immensly our history, every post. But we can't do anyting about it, others did the best they could back then and I will never think badly of that. But what I can say is that we will never allow it to happen again, our posts, our history will be safe for the rest of history.

The shroomery is secure now, the shroomery is safe, but most importantly we will have our history recorded and alive as long as we all live and longer
