You guys ave a wonderful site. However, if I were to make any beef, it is with the way you are unable to specifically respond to an individual post... You have to add your response to along queue, which sucks. Check out http://www.ghanaforum.com/discuss.pl for an idea of a better message system. Otherwise, graphics are primo, infoormation good and authoritative, etc. Good job and thanks. Regards,

It'd be nice if we could manually tweak the date cookie. Nothing like having to leave halfways through a session and then all the posts are marked read.BTW, what happened to my Private Mail link? I don't have one any more since you upgraded the BBS.

Springbok - from time to time in the past, I've evaluated other possible BB scripts, and we always end up sticking with the Ultimate BB for several reasons.First of all, the other scripts invariably generate and display the messages on the fly, using CGI. This introduces tremendous overhead when compared to the UBB, which uses static HTML to display the threads. Second, the UBB is a commercial product and as such is well supported. Its code is clean, well documented, and easy to hack - and since it has such a large installed base, many hacks are already written and available. Finally, and most importantly, switching BB scripts would mean discarding the thousands and thousands of threads already posted. As far as I'm concerned, that's really not an option. Booger - try bookmarking http://www.shroomery.org/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true. If you have to leave halfway through a session, use that URL when you return and the posts won't be marked read. Also, I'd be very interested to hear more about your problem with the Private Messages link. It still displays fine for me, and I'm totally unable to get it to disappear, no matter what I try. Is anyone else having this problem? ------------------ Ythan Founder of the Shroomery

Sorry but, this the best and most functional message board that I have yet to see, the colour and content is real good as well.

Hey man, don't get me wrong--your site rocks! (I never said the, uh, colour wasn't cool, either, BTW) I still think that it sucks that one is unable to specifically respond to individual postings, like in the Spore Exchange you're linked with. Also, I think that is a strange mindset--not wanting to improve just because you would have to destroy what has been built in the past. Imagine if we never destroyed old building in order to put up new buildings? Still, I can understand you reluctance to change--it would be a lot of hassle for you. Now, with that, we can drop this subject. Thanks for putting together such a wonderful site, and I look forward to many future posts on it! Regards, Bok

I found the private messages link. I thought I used to have this link whenever I was in the BBS part of the Shroomery. It turns out it only displays in the main screen of the BBS, where you select what base to read.
