well kazaa has a crap load, but the kazaa lite program deletes them all and has a bunch of other features making worthwhile. I havent heard of a couple that were mentioned so I cant comment on them. Most people do hate kazaa, but it seems to work well for me.

SoulSeek has no spyware that i or any of my friends have become aware of. It's great program and many great people using it. You'll find some stuff on soulseek (like live sets and such) that you won't find anywhere else.

Yea, if you get Kazaa, make sure to get Kazaa Lite, it has anti-spyware programs, AVI previewing software so you can check out movies you're d/loading as you're d/loading them, as well as rating modifiers so that you can keep your rating up to get priority over other kazaa users..

Just a lot of little spiffy things about it. You can also set it's rating program to auto-restart your d/loads every hour or two hours and reset your rating back up to 1000 if you have it saved at 1000.

It's a little hard to use at first, give it a little time. Try checking out some chat rooms that interest you and ask for the files you want, you'll come up with some interesting stuff sometimes. And make some great friends while you're at it. Although i can't say much about other chat rooms besides the IDM room (stop by man and drop a line), because that is my home.

my problem is that i am one of the most computer iliterate people out there....i dont even know how to post a screen shot....

whats happening (or not happening rather) is that none of the files i try to download actually start downloading....they just stay, "remotely queued"

Use Bittorrent if you want full Cds, or full collections of music.

I recently got the entire works of Judas Priest with just one download. I also downloaded this huge thing of Pink Floyd, which was 2.1GBs big. Complete works of Ozzy Osbourne, Sepultura... you can get tons of stuff on there. They're all set up in different folders, and the names of the folders are the albums, it's really cool.

It doesn't take that much effort either.

dude, read the faq I just posted. remotely queued just means the person you're trying to download from has a line & you've got to wait for your turn. I'd have a look at the faq - it'll answer most questions you'll have.

never used bearshare...but im skeptical it has the music selection that slsk has...especially the types of music that I listen to (mostly rare independent label imports ripped from vinyl).

I have used alot of download programs in the past, most of the one mentioned above (Kazaa,Bittorrent, limewire, overnet/edonkey and many more) the BEST one i have used is Bearshare Lite, i would put my life on it, ultra fast downloads, with good searches and no spy ware. try it out, see what you think, I'm sure you will love it as much as i do
