colonizing diff. strains
    #336315 - 06/06/01 04:03 PM (22 years, 5 months ago)

I was curious wether or not you could take 3 diff. strains and crumble the cakes together to make 1 casing.(aus.,mex,thai.)2- pint jars(mex.)4- 1/2 pint jars (thai)4-1/2 pint jars(aus.)
ive been waiting a week for my grain to colonize (DBKIT)and they show no signs.I'm waiting another week but by then my jars would be all ready to go.What do you think i should do here?

its possible, all those strains are PC so all the mycilia should grow in fungi harmony

It don't work. The different strains compete for space.

I hate it when "strangers" post half-ass advice. If Maynard knew you were quoting him he would probably kick your ass. You are a disgrace to all tool fans. All of your advice is CRAP this is not the only post where you gave the CRAPPIEST advice i have ever READ. I had to write this because i cannot stand for this blatant retardation of beauty (this poor fools quote and his "advice")... thank you and good night...

You can do it. Just put each strain in own part of the casing, don?t mix them together. Like 1 strain on the left part, 2nd in the middle and the 3rd on the right.
The only problem will be that each strain has a different flushing pattern, means they will fruit at different times.
So if you would go by book, you should have a very high humidity before pins occur, and then lower it a little.
With this setup you will have to stick to one setting.
But it will work.

And for the naw sayers, yes I tried this.
