Can different strains of mushrooms be in the same terrianium

Is it ok to grow mushrooms that are not all the same strain within the same terrianium ? I know the mycilien is supposed to fight off other airborne contaminants but I'd like to be sure.

Common sence? if he is new thats a legit question IMO.

You can have diff strains in same terrarium, you just dont want to mix different strains of mycellium, say in a casing or something, they will just fight each other for nutrients being counter-productive. If your doing cakes or something ya they can all be different strains, wont hurt a thing

Im not sure if you are talking about in the same fruiting chamber, or in the same casing? It really doesn't matter anyways ... :smile:

You can put as many strains of the same species in there you just can't put different species that require different enviroments.

And you can in fact have more then one strain in the same casing.

Yes just dont mix the strains in the same casing or cake.

does it make any differance when you want to take spore prints from two differant strains in the same terrianium .i just took from one it works its eq and the other is gt but i forget to get some prints from gt .

everyone knows that cubes are blood thirsty fungi!
they will tear each other cap from stem!

i can see it now.... mexicana drops a few spores on equador's side of the rubbermaid, and next thing ya know, equador is bustin caps into mexicana's cake
mexicana will start slingin perlite on equador's corner.... man, that shit could get real ugly real quick...
