Hacked Arcade Scores?

Hello, I have noticed that some of the arcade game top scores, are very high. So high infact that I can not see a way humanly possible to achieve them. I believe that somone has hacked these scores as it is very, very easy to do. I will not say here, but perhaps you can reset the ones that are obvously to high for human achivement. The one I'm looking at now is:

Yeah, the high score for Plumber isn't real.

It's a glitch in the begining.

I'm pretty sure the high score in Mini Golf is fake.
It adds up to a hole in one 18 times in a row.
I know there are a few holes (8 for example) where this isn't possible.

Hey -

High scores can't easily be 'hacked' since the score is taken directly from the Flash applet. However, as you have already noticed some of the games have glitches which allow you to wrack up a ridiculously high score if you know the trick. What do you think we should do in those cases? We could leave the high scores intact and let the cheaters compete amongst themselves, erase the ridiculously high scores entirely, or even remove the games where cheating is possible. I've taken a hands-off approach so far because I'm not really sure what to do, but maybe we should decide on a policy.

i say run a poll or something.

personally, i dont really care about it too much either way. if it was up to me id just leave the scores the way they are. if you want to beat the high score, figure out the glitch.

Actually I already spent some time trying to make it work with our scoring mechanism. I'm beginning to suspect that my cracked copy of SWF Quicker is jacked because I just couldn't get it to work for the life of me (even though in theory I think it should). I'll try again sometime when I'm feeling like I don't have enough frustration in my life :wink:.

Hehehe - The golf one is the only one I noticed an insane score, so far. Some of the high scores are very competitive actually, and change a few times a day.

Actually you are wrong.

I had one of the high scores of Tontie and all you need to do to get it is patience and dexterity. Also 12 months as a data entry clerk using only the numpad helps.

So no - the high score on Tontie is in fact not at all hacked and if you spend the time playing it, you too can reign supreme.

ya, i take much pride in being the champion of chopper challenge... :smirk: once i lost my pac-man high score, that was pretty much it for me. i will not be half the man i was until i regain that title....and it may be a while
