dont get me wrong ..scott peterson is a scumbag...but the sad fact remains that he was convicted on the flimsiest of evidence...if all it takes to convince a jury is a motive followed by a suspicious pattern of behaviour..then bushco should have long since been charged..and convicted..of complicity in 9/11 (at least in the 3 years before the possibly fake video where OBL claimed responsibility)...

and im definitely not trying to concoct a far-flung conspiracy theory that links scott peterson to the 9/11-bush conspiracy theory either.. but merely to point out that the same weight of evidence is sometimes enough to convict..and sometimes not enough to even warrant consideration...

I didn't follow this case very closely as I'm not that interested in it, but if there was any doubt - which it seems there was with 3 jurors being dismissed - he should have been found not guilty.

As many people as we are seeing today being released from prison after serving such considerable sentences - 20 years on a false charge of rape was one I heard the other day and the girl finally admitted that her grandmother persuaded her to lie to protect her cousin who actually committed the crime who is now on death row - I think people need to seriously reconsider what it is our justice system is meant to accomplish.

I believe that our system is one in which guilty people should go free. The goal should not be 100% conviction of the guilty but 100% of the innocent being aquitted. As long as we assure that the innocent don't end up in prison, I'm willing to let some get away with their crimes. At least it should be something we strive for. Too many times it seems prosecutors are more concerned with their record rather than ensuring actual justice takes place.

But doesn't that normally mean you're not guilty, like the OJ trial?

Only if you did your research fromthat Maryl Streep movie "a cry in the dark" wherethe Dingo ate her baby. She didn't cry in court either and she wasn't guilty. But that was a movie,pretty boring movie too now that you mention it.

Must have been alot of fisherman on the jury. No person who likes to fish would ever bring there freshwater tackle salt water fishing.
