I am one of everything. I had to sell my DJ gear to afford school but I'm trying to get my gear back in the next few months. Any other techno heads out there?

<---Techno head, right here! I had a nice set of tables but sold them to get my vehicle. I'd only been spinning for about a year, but i had it down pretty good. I spin mostly idm, but get into dnb, breaks, and techno of course. I rave about every weekend, but you won't find me with a pink pacifier and glowsticks, you'll find me in a t-shirt and jeans shakin it on the dance floor :laugh: Colorado raves are kickass. Boulder is such an awesome place, with groovy ass people and Grade A Marijuana.

Im a techno head too breaks..electro..trance but cant offer you anything as far as gear goes. I have a Motu Interface with a Triton PRO and Digital perforemer daw, a 18 key Virus Indigo and some V drums....gettin a beat box but my studio is growing....not for sale. The only advice I can give is to try ebay first for getting gear back for cheaper than usual. There are alot of people that get a studio in aspiration of producing, realize how hard it is to make music, and then sell it on ebay to afford other things.

I even prefer tripping mushrooms as opposed to eating E at raves. Here in colorado there are tight as raves deep in the woods in the mountains so you can wander and hike, be with mother nature. Actually, the infamous Mother Earth Sound Systems Full Moon parties happen 3 times a year on the full moons in the summer. Best parties ever.

Just a side line. I dont do it too often, my father owns a company that does it, he makes 1200 a gig. Weddings.... easy money.... change fields in dj entertaining,

I hit up the clubs here in NYC on a weekly basis. Never been to a rave cause I like to avoid the weirdos, teenyboppers and candykids. What kinda music do you spin in particluar?

Intelligent Dance Music is my absolute fav, but i spin so much stuff. Been getting more into breakbeats, and drum'n'bass. Techno is a must, and i believe i have superior taste in techno :p Si Begg and Neil Landstrumm is some of my favorite. I dig jungle, but am not familiar with much of it. Trance i've never really gotten into.

I had to sell my equipment to afford school, but I used to spin hard progressive house/trance mainly. Anything that has a lot of energy I'm into.

I used to go raving a lot, but kind of got tired of the scene after a while.  I still like to go every once in a while.  I'm more into just random dance clubs.

A lot of the raves around here are in shitty warehouses that are smoke filled and overcrowded.  Though occassionally we'll have a real nice venue and I like to go to those.

Max_Headroom, you have any clubs you suggest in NYC?  I don't live REAL REAL far from there and might make a trip up sometime soon if it's worthwhile.  Keep in mind I'm a skinny white guy. :lol:

I used to go to raves a lot, but I just don't have the time now that school has actually gotten interesting.

luckily I have a lot of DJ friends who regularly come through with the new drum and bass tracks.

Junglist all the way! My husband and I used to go to parties all the time, but they never have enough DnB at them. Then we moved to where there really isn't a scene. It's starting to come up though, and now my husband has a residency at a club near here.  :smile:

ive been to 3 raves so far...2 in cali and one here in az. the 2 in cali were both massives, and i went with my good friends here at the shroomery...good times. i expect to go to many more in the future

I used to go to all these raves in Baltimore and DC, Fever, Ultra to name a few. It seemed like back then they didn't advertise these parties, they just had them like once or twice a week. I've got two technics, Pioneer mixer (rack mixer), Dr. Sample and an American Audio CD player. I'm going to go completely digital sometime these holidays, maybe get those new technic CD turntables--Bad Ass.

when i was living in london the scene was absolutely fucking AWESOME. every weekend was great to go clubbing..whether it was battle of the MCs feat. skibba, shabba, eksman, etc or friday nights (night of true playaz) at fabric. even the dnb/jungle squat parties were fucking brilliant

I used to rave alot. Roll a lot. Nowadays parties fucking blow. Bring back warehouse parties! Im more about da jungle though  :rockon:
